Scripture study & care for the sick, together

The Word studied. The sick visited.

Catholic Bible Safari is an independent initiative built around two things: seminars that open up Scripture — our weekly Bible study, a weekend on the Psalms, and an Easter seminar — and Visits to the Sick, a separate way of living out the call to love our neighbour.

Catholic Bible Safari — Saturdays, 10–11:30am (virtual)
Psalms Seminar — May 15–17, 2027
Easter Seminar — Holy Thursday to Easter Sunday
Visits to the Sick — 2nd Saturday monthly
Ongoing Programs

Three seminars. One outreach.

Each program stands on its own — join whichever fits where you are right now.

Catholic Bible Safari

Genesis to Revelation

A journey through the whole of Scripture, live online every Saturday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM — not just listening to someone explain the Bible, but learning how to read it yourself, one book at a time.

Saturdays, 10:00–11:30 AM Register
Weekend Seminar

Praying the Psalms

The Psalter

"Look to him and be radiant."Psalm 34:5

Three days together on the Psalms — lament, praise, thanksgiving, and royal psalms — and how to pray them the way the Church already does, in the Liturgy of the Hours and the Mass.

May 15–17, 2027, in person Register
Holy Week

Easter Seminar 2027

Leviticus 23

A seminar for living Holy Week and the Easter weekend well — tracing what we celebrate back to the Old Testament feasts it fulfills, for a fuller, more wholesome experience of the Triduum itself.

Visits to the Sick

Kibagare Slum

Every second Saturday of the month, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, we visit families in Kibagare Slum who are sick or simply going through a hard time — working with a dedicated social worker to bring food supplies and spend the afternoon getting to know them, sitting, listening, and laughing together. It's simply a way to bring a little joy into their day.

2nd Saturday monthly, 2:00–4:00 PM Register
The Whole Package

Two ways of living the Gospel.

Catholic Bible Safari brings together an ongoing commitment to Scripture and an ongoing commitment to charity. The seminars are for study. Visits to the Sick are something else entirely — a direct, practical response to the call to love our neighbour, carried out through food, information, and time spent with people who are unwell or alone.

1

Bring four families' worth of food

Each visit, volunteers bring enough food supplies for four families — the number a two-person team can support in a two-hour visit.
2

Meet the families

Alongside a dedicated social worker, we identify those most in need — especially people who are sick or caring for someone who is.
3

Sit, listen, and laugh

Most of the visit is simply time together — conversation, listening, and laughter. It's a small way of bringing joy into someone's day and getting to know them as people.

The Catholic Bible Safari Route

What the annual class covers.

Weekly Saturday sessions from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, pausing after Session 40 and resuming each January.

1
Genesis 1–11

Creation & the Fall

Where the world begins, and why that first wound shapes every chapter after it.

2
Genesis 12–50

The Patriarchs

Abraham to Joseph — a family carrying a promise through famine, exile, and betrayal.

3
Exodus – Leviticus

Exodus, Covenant & the Feasts

Sinai, the Law, and the appointed times of Leviticus 23 — covered in full during the Easter seminar.

4
Joshua – 2 Chronicles, Psalms

Kingdom, Prophets & the Psalter

The throne of David, the Temple, and the prayer book Israel sang through all of it — the Psalms seminar goes deep here.

5
1–2 Maccabees

The Maccabees

The last chapter before the Gospels: a faithful remnant resists forced assimilation, purifies the Temple, and keeps the promise alive in the silence before Christ.

6
Matthew – John

The Gospel

Every session before this one was leading here.

7
Acts – Revelation

The Church

The story keeps going — in the sacraments, and in Visits to the Sick.
